PPSU 3D Printing Filament
Polyphenylsulfone (PPSF or PPSU) is a high-temperature aromatic sulfone polymer. Long considered to be one of the highest performance polymers in the plastics world. PPSF has excellent thermal and chemical resistance, making it well suited for demanding applications in automotive, aerospace, electronics, defense, industrial, medical, semi-con applications.
Attributes of Polyphenylsulfone PPSF (PPSU) include:
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Very high thermal properties with a Tg of 220Ā°C andĀ HDT of 205Ā°C
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Excellent hydrolytic resistance
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ High Environmental Stress Crack Resistance (ESCR)
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Outstanding impact resistance
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Highly resistant to gamma radiation - even in large doses (10 Mrd)
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Sterilization capable - includingĀ EtO gas, radiation, steam autoclaving, plasma, dry heat and cold sterilization.
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Resists most common automotive fluids, including gasoline, antifreeze, transmission fluid, motor oil, power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid (ESCR, 24hrs, 100Ā°C)
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Inherently flame retardant with low smoke evolution and low smoke toxicity
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Excellent dimensional stability (low creep sensitivity and low, uniform coefficient of thermal expansion) and highly reproducible part-to-part dimensions
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Exceptional strength and modulus, even at elevated temperatures
Filament Specifications:
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Diameter: Ā 1.75mm (+/- 0.05mm)
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Density: Ā 1.29g/cm3
Recommended Print Conditions: (starting points)
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Extruder Temp: 370 - 390Ā°C
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Bed Temp: 160-200Ā°C
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Bed Prep: Rough Borosilicate Glass with PVP gluestick , or high temp carbon fiber sheet plus PVP glue stick, we also recommend the Vision Miner Nano Polymer
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Print Speed:Ā Print speeds of 20-30mm/s (starting point), faster as results dictate
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Enclosure Temp:Ā 90-200Ā°C (Bigger the part higher chamber temps are required)
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Drying Instructions: Please dry @110-120Ā°C for 12-24 hours, for the first dry its recommended to dry for atleast 24 hours before using, the drying time can be lowered using a vaccum oven, and also storing the filament in a degassing chamber when not in use.
